Every time an aspirant is giving an exam, he has a plethora of college options in his mind. After the exam the aspirant has a score or a rank and is in a big dilemma of which college to join! The choices are plenty and every senior has many good things to speak about his college.
Here, even various college rankings are unable to provide a complete clarity to the aspirant and the confusion prevails.
In order to reduce some of this confusion and for helping all the aspirants out there, AlmaConnect has come up with this list which will compare top engineering colleges on the basis of a big data set of over 10,000 alumni at least from every institute listed.
This report consists of the names of the top 25 companies to work at by LinkedIn along with top engineering colleges of India depicting the number of alumni from the institute working in each of these companies.
The process
Let's take a look at the entire procedure employees in order to construct the list above:
LinkedIn releases various lists of companies each year. One such list by LinkedIn is- Top 25 companies to work at in 2019.
AlmaConnect has around 40% of the alumni from top engineering colleges(mentioned above) signed up on our platform.
On an average a set of over 10,000 alumni from each of these colleges was picked.
On the basis of the profiles on our platform we picked up the number of alumni in each of these top 25 companies and carefully curated these lists.
Observations
Here are some observations that we can make from the above data:
One is very likely to find BITSians in the top corporates in India. was across the top 25 companies to work at in India.
Amazon has the maximum number of alumni from the top engineering colleges from India. This clearly implies that Amazon is a dream company for a lot of students and alumni out there.
The number of Alumni from BITS in Amazon is more than double when compared to other engineering colleges.
The number of alumni in ITes is much more from IITs as compared to BITS.
The number of alumni in top startups from the list like Amazon, Ola, OYO is a lot more in IITs and BITS as compared to even the top NITs.
Overall BITSians will be commonly found in startups and dominate even in the non-technical companies like KPMG or PWC and IITians are very commonly found in ITes companies.
